With this union, the group aims to become a world leader.
Sinterpack and Prodec join forces to offer the best end-of-line automation solutions. Combined, the two companies have more than 100 years of experience. Veteranship with which they intend to expand the range of solutions and gain volume in international markets. With the merger, both companies are expected to close the year with a consolidated turnover of €25 million, making them one of the leading forces in the integration and manufacture of case packing and palletizing.
Behind this new group is Thomas Kermorgant, currently President of Sinterpack, which has acquired the Catalan company Prodec, a specialist in the manufacture and integration of product packaging solutions.
With this union, the resulting Group has an extensive global technical support network, capable of offering service in all regions and the best case packing and palletizing solutions using industrial robotics and collaborative robotics, making it a unique Group designer, integrator and manufacturer of hybrid end-of-line solutions.
Since its birth as STORK in 1965, Sinterpack has established itself as a designer, integrator and manufacturer of end-of-line solutions. One of the most notable milestones in its history is that, in 1998, it introduced robotic technology in palletizing, with the start-up of the first seven palletizing robots installed in the dairy sector in Spain, specifically at Calidad Pascual, in Aranda de Duero. Since then, it has continued working to offer the best and most innovative solutions, and two years ago it designed its own Collaborative Palletizing Cell, which has also allowed it to become a reference in end-of-line solutions using collaborative robotics.
Prodec, founded in 1976 and located in Castellar del Vallès (Barcelona), specializes in the manufacture and integration of product packaging solutions, mainly flexible, with applications developed for high production rates of up to 400 pc/min. With a tradition of innovation since its beginnings, one of its latest achievements has been the development of applications for the encasing of strings, a unique solution in the world market. With more than 40 years of experience and an exporting vocation, Prodec is today an international reference with presence in Europe, America, Africa and Asia.
The Catalan company, which will maintain its current activity after the operation, will continue to count on its founder Jaume Plans as an advisor in its day-to-day business, as confirmed by Jaume himself.
This union was born with the vocation of being a global player in the end-of-line market, bringing all the experience and reputation accumulated over many years. The technological and human capacity of the group will allow us to provide today’s demanding market with the best and most up-to-date integrated solutions.
Although coordination and synergies will be constant between both companies, both the Burgos-based Sinterpack, an expert in palletizing, and the Catalan Prodec, specialized in the production of product packaging solutions (especially flexible), will maintain their production activities in Burgos and Castellar del Vallès, respectively.
With this process, the new group expects to at least double its turnover in the next 6 years.
For Thomas Kermorgant, President of the new group, “after the internal changes that have allowed us to position ourselves as one of the most innovative, committed and modern companies in the end-of-line sector in Spain, now, with the union of Prodec, we also want to be a reference in the international market”.
